Yuri Kholodov, the recipient of the honorary title of People’s Artist of Ukraine and a holder of State Shevchenko Prize (the highest national award for the cultural achievements), dedicated his life to the chamber performance. Working about four decades as a violist of Ukrainian State Lysenko string quartet, which was extraordinary popular in 1970-1990, he visited multitude of the different countries of East and West Europe, North America, Africa, Japan, where he also performed as a soloist in chamber recitals. His performance style, as reviewers note, is characterized by special refinement, chamber elegancy, and psychological profundity. Simultaneously, he started to publish some of his literary works in periodic press and then - in his books as “Iness”, 2001, “Solo for viola”, 2006, “Quiet music”, 2010, “Melodies of Love”, 2011, "Savannah Revelations", 2012, “Revelations of the misanthrope”, 2012, “These strange musicians”, 2013, collected works in three volumes : "Native Shores", "Sounds of Music", "Immigrant Happiness", 2016 in Russian language. His selected works were translated in English -"Transient Moments", 2015, "Melodies of Love", 2016.
